Job Description
Role: CNC Machinist / CNC Operator
Location: Basingstoke, Hampshire
Salary: Up to -40,000 depending on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
A well-established precision engineering business is looking to add an experienced CNC Machinist / CNC Operator to its growing production team.
The company manufactures high-precision components for demanding customers across sectors including aerospace, automotive and high-performance engineering, working with modern CNC machining technology and tight quality requirements.
This is a great opportunity for someone with CNC machining experience who enjoys working in a hands-on production environment and wants to develop their skills further.
Responsibilities:
- Setting and operating CNC milling and/or turning machines
- Producing precision components to drawing and specification
- Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures and programmes
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Carrying out in-process inspection and basic measurement
- Deburring and finishing components where required
- Making minor offsets and adjustments to maintain quality
- Re-setting machines when required
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Carrying out basic machine checks and minor maintenance
- Working to production targets while maintaining high quality standards
Skills and experience:
- Previous CNC machining experience
- Experience of setting and/or operating CNC milling or turning machinery
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Good understanding of cutting tools, tooling and workholding
- Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges
- Good attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team
